Christmas Caroling
You DO NOT want to miss out on the Christmas caroling on Sunday, Dec 19, from 3:30-5:30pm. Be sure to let Carolyn Baker know ASAP if you are going to make it. You can email her (cbaker@troycable.net) or call her at the church office at 566-3600. I hope you can make it. This will be a HUGE blessing to members of our congregation who have a hard time getting out of their homes!

Bingo at Noble Manor
Just a reminder that this Saturday the youth will be going to Noble Manor in Troy to minister to the residents there (and what better way do this than bingo???). Some of the deacons and their wives will be joining us. This is a GREAT opportunity to share the love of Christ with people and let them know that they matter to us and to Him. Also, this will be a great chance for the older and younger generations in the church to interact with one another.

Service Opportunities
Hey guys,
I wanted to let you know about 3 service opportunities at First Baptist over the next week.
I wanted to let you know about 3 service opportunities at First Baptist over the next week.
First, the Fall Festival is this Sunday, Oct 31, from 3-5pm. There are numerous opportunities you can sign up for in the Children’s building. Also, you are more than welcome to just come and have a good time!
Second, the youth will be helping out in the prayer room again this Monday, Nov 1. If you are able to come by from 6-8 pm (you do not have to stay the whole time), you’ll have an opportunity to pray for the people of Troy and write a short postcard message to them.
Third, next Tuesday, Nov 2, Al Renfroe needs some help from 5:30-8pm to help sign kids up for Upward Basketball. There are a couple different ways we can help here. One is to help watch some kids of the individuals who are helping to sign people up. This childcare (I believe) will be in the Children’s building. Also, if you would like to help out in the FLC itself, directing people to where they need to go (they need a lot of help here), please let me or Al know. He could certainly use the help!
Hope to see you guys at these events. Have a good week!

Wednesday Topics
Hey all,
I wanted to let you know what the topics are going to be for the new few Wednesday nights. As a reminder, we have been discussing how we are supposed to give God every area of our lives, and last week we discussed how God desires the younger generations to set an example for the older generations (1 Timothy 4:12). Over the next few weeks, we are going to look at how some young people in the Bible did just that. Some individuals we will look at are David, Daniel and his friends, and Josiah.
Hope you're having a good week!

Wednesday Night Discussions
Hey guys,
I wanted to let you know about what we have been discussing on Wednesday nights. The overall theme has been that we are to give God control of every area of our life. Two Wednesdays ago we looked at Romans 12:1-2. These are amazing verses that implore us to worship God by not just singing to Him on Sundays and Wednesdays, but by obeying Him throughout our day each day. Paul calls this offering our bodies as "living sacrifices".
Last Wednesday we looked at John 6, where large crowds were following Jesus....at first. After Jesus explains who He really is and why He really came, thousands of His followers desert Him. They did this because they went to Jesus for a show; they were only interested in what they could get from Him. Those few that stayed offered some very insightful words as to why..."Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life." They had a correct understanding of who Jesus was and lived their lives accordingly.
Tomorrow's study will be based on 1 Timothy 4:12. Young people can make a difference, regardless of their age!
